1. Could you tell us your story on dropping down?

I started dropping down my 2nd yr in pro ball. I was dealing with some shoulder injuries& throwing from the down under slot felt a lot easier on my arm

2. What are some of the advantages you had from your arm angle?

The biggest advantage of dropping down was the deception you gave the hitters& it also gave me a lot more late life on my pitches.

3. If you didn't drop down, do you think you would have had the same success?

It's hard to say if dropping down prolonged my pro career. I think arm health wise it helped. More of a natural arm slot. I was able to bounce back a lot quicker which is huge to a relief pitcher.

4. What would you tell someone debating on changing their arm angle?

I think unless you are throwing in the mid 90's with a hammer for a breaking ball you should try to maximize your skill set by changing arm slots.

5. Are there any mechanical tips that you'd give to someone throwing sidearm/submarine?

It's really hard to give mechanical tips about dropping down over an interview. It's such a different approach to pitching that you have to get on a mound with a good pitching guy to show you in person.

6. What pitches did you throw?

My pitching repertoire was pretty simple. Sinker, slider, change up

7. How did you pitch to lefties/righties?

I pitched RHH's predominantly with sinker & changeup & LHH's with sinker & slider.

8. Lastly what was your favorite part about pitching from down there?

I think the best thing about pitching from a funky arm angle was some of the UGLY swing& misses that u would get. I really miss that!
